This is the Plaza Theater in Carrollton, TX. It was built in 1949.  The door that is in the foreground, the one blocked by the bench, was the “Negros only” door.  It led straight to the balcony.  Some days it feels like we have come so far beyond that time and on others it feels as if time has stood still and we are still right there.
